International Character of the Business Excellence Baseline™ Certification
The Business Excellence Baseline™ Certification is an internationally applied organizational certification designed to support and recognize the development of excellence practices in organizations across different sectors and regions. It provides organizations with a structured way to assess their maturity level and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
Although the certification is aligned with widely recognized ISO standards, it is not derived from them. Instead, it has been independently developed by the Business Excellence Institute (BEX) based on decades of learning from excellence frameworks worldwide, practical assessment experience, academic research, and insights from working with diverse organizations. While ISO standards influenced its development, the Business Excellence Baseline™ Certification reflects a more holistic view of organizational excellence.
As part of our global activity, the Business Excellence Baseline™ Certification has been applied and used to assess organizations in multiple countries, enabling it to be recognized as an internationally relevant certification.

Ms. Karella, as an approved Excellence Baseline auditor, is responsible for:
- Conducting the on-site or remote audit process
- Evaluating evidence and interviewing relevant personnel
- Assessing maturity and alignment with the Business Excellence Baseline™ Certification requirements
- Preparing the Audit Report and certification recommendation submitted to the Institute
Her role ensures that the evaluation is carried out professionally, objectively, and in accordance with the standards established by the Business Excellence Institute.

Certification Process
The Business Excellence Baseline™ Certification process follows a structured audit and review process designed to ensure clarity, consistency, and trusted evaluation.

The organization begins by preparing for the audit, making sure relevant information, documentation, and key personnel are available for review.

The audit is then conducted by an approved and trained Excellence Baseline auditor, who evaluates the organization’s maturity level in core areas such as quality, governance, people management, and risk management. During this stage, the auditor collects evidence, holds discussions with organizational representatives, and forms an objective view of current capability.

Following the audit, the auditor documents the findings in a formal Audit Report and provides a recommendation regarding certification. This report is submitted to the Business Excellence Institute for independent review.

If the Institute confirms that the audit has been conducted to standard and supports the recommendation, certification is awarded.

Successful organizations then receive the Business Excellence Baseline™ Certificate.
