But is it time for such luxury?

An initial reaction which is not at all unusual towards the implementation of some management tools or excellence models which shows, however, a lack of awareness of the benefit that a company can have from the certification of excellence. The international economic conjuncture and the tough Greek reality, mainly for the small Greek company that faces a lack of liquidity, surely do not constitute the ideal basis for the far-reaching design of actions that are not erroneously considered by a percentage of enterprises as necessary for the survival of the company.
Thus, often the notion Excellence and the management models that are related to it are considered to be a kind of luxury by those who are not really aware of what the implementation of excellence models practically means for the company and what the benefits are for those who can discern them.
The application and certification according to the European Business Excellence model EFQM arms the company with
1. the capability to locate the malfunctions (e.g., organizational, administrational) that render the everyday operation difficult and to find ways to eliminate them through the application of the procedure of auto-evaluation according to the RADAR procedure.
2. the saving of resources, that is money and time, given the fact that the lack of organization constitutes a cause of wasting resources and of reduced productivity.
3. the boosting of the image and prestige of the company with a certification of an international range that is particularly identifiable abroad.
4. the adoption of an Excellence culture that characterizes the small or big company that wishes to widen its horizons through exports and cooperation by underlining its extrovert character.
However, the main reason is that the application and certification of the Excellence models help the Enterprise and its People to understand in depth and essentially that the Participation of All and the Awareness constitute from now on a one-way street for the Success and the Competitiveness.
